Sanaa Gift Shop’s story kicks off in 2021, when founder Nyomi Smith was on a mission to find wrapping paper featuring a Black Father Christmas – and came up empty-handed.
How it all started
Frustrated by the fact that these products were either hiding across the pond in the US or stuck in an outdated aesthetic, Nyomi, a professional graphic designer, decided enough was enough. She was ready to shake things up and bring a fresh, inclusive vibe to the UK gift market. And just like that, Sanaa Gift Shop was born, ready to give a diverse shopping experience that finally gets them.
Meet the founder
Nyomi picked the name ‘Sanaa’ on purpose – it’s Swahili for ‘work of art,’ and it’s the perfect reflection of how she sees her creations.
